About Me

My name is Ms Thandar and I will be teaching Myanmar Language this year.I was born in Taikkyi Township then moved to Yangon when I had graduated .I love teaching ,going for sightseeing,making fun activities with the kids ,cooking is also my favourite of my free time.

Area of Special Interest

I’m interested in literacy (reading and writing ) for very young children who have difficulties by observing the challenges they face in different areas.

I also interest in cooking ,listening to pop music and seeing nice view in the countrysides, going trips and spending time with my family is my pleasure for me.

Education

This is my eleventh year with the primary team at MISY.

I have 16 years of experience in international schools especially with the key stage one students.

I graduated with Bachelor of Science(BSc .Physics) from West Yangon University in 2008 and obtained an Diploma in ELT (English Language Teaching ) in 2021.

I love teaching phonics and gained a certificate in Jolly Phonics in 2000.I’m one of the members of Child Protection Team which is very important in school.

As a PTA representative teacher ( Parent-Teacher Association) I am involved as a parent and a teacher in primary .

I have received English teaching diploma called ( Dip -DETMS ) Dip in English Teaching Method and Strategies and have finished TKT( Teaching Knowledge Test ) training and test either .

Experience

I have 17 teaching experience with the young learner and primary students .In MISY ,I’ve been teaching 11 year in EYFS and Key Stage 1 area. I’ve been teaching one year for Myanmar Language and this is my second year teaching Myanmar Language .
