Myanmar International School Yangon (MISY) was established in August 2009 and is located in Yankin township, Yangon Myanmar. MISY is an all-through school, catering for students from early years (nursery and reception) to year 13 (sixth form). There are a wide variety of after-school activities, including sports programmes and community based projects to enhance the learning experiences of all students. MISY has a sister school in Mandalay which opened in 2018. This campus currently caters for students from early years to year 13. Both are Cambridge accredited. MISY Yangon became a Council of International Schools (CIS) accredited school in April, 2025 and MISY Mandalay a CIS member school in December, 2025.
MISY is accredited and delivers the Cambridge International Curriculum. Our standards ensure globally accepted qualifications for university entry.
Myanmar International School Yangon – MISY is authorized by the Ministry of Education as a registered private school and is permitted to deliver an international curriculum.

At Myanmar International School Yangon (MISY), safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child is at the heart of everything we do. As a Council of International Schools (CIS) accredited school, we are committed to maintaining the highest international standards of child protection and student wellbeing. Our safeguarding practices are guided by the UK statutory guidance “Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)”, ensuring robust procedures for prevention, identification, and response to concerns. All academic and non-academic staff receive regular training and are vigilant in recognizing and acting on any safeguarding issues. We work in close partnership with parents and relevant external agencies to ensure that every child is safe, supported, and able to thrive in a secure and inclusive environment.
