About Me
I am from the UK, and grew up in the beautiful university town of Oxford. I am a mathematics graduate, and am also trained in special educational needs and teaching English as an additional language.
I have worked in primary, secondary and residential schools, which has given me an insight into the full education system. I have worked in education for nearly 30 years, predominantly in the UK, but also in Laos, China, Vietnam and Cambodia. I feel very much at home in SE Asia and it is an absolute privilege to now be living and working in Myanmar.
Area of Special Interest
Education is far more than the teaching and learning of knowledge; it is about empowering students, raising self-esteem, encouraging controlled risk-taking, and developing resilience, empathy and responsibility for their actions.
