About Me
I am a dedicated and experienced Chinese language educator with over 18 years of teaching experience across diverse educational settings. I spent six years teaching at ES4E Education Center, and for the past twelve years have been teaching at MISY.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in English, along with a Diploma in Chinese (UFL). My professional qualifications also include a Certificate in Teaching Young Learners, a Certificate in First Age–Young Child Care and Development, and a Certificate of Teacher Training completed in Guangzhou, China.
To further enhance my instructional skills and subject expertise, I have successfully completed several Cambridge training programs, including:
– Cambridge IGCSE Studies in Mandarin Chinese as a Foreign Language (0547) (Self-Study Course)
– Components 1 & 2 Marking Workshop – Cambridge IGCSE First Language Chinese (0509) for the 2023–2025 syllabus
– Focus on Assessment – Cambridge IGCSE Chinese as a Second Language (0523) for the 2023–2025 syllabus
– Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) Course
My teaching philosophy centers on experiential and reflective learning, aiming to cultivate linguistic competence, cultural understanding, and lifelong learning habits in my students.
I am passionate about creating engaging, student-centered learning environments and committed to professional growth and academic excellence.
Area of Special Interest
I prefer to explore how to apply Experiential Teaching Methods in the classroom and beyond because these methods encourage creativity, help students learn from their mistakes, foster reflective thinking, and better prepare them for real-world experiences. By engaging students in hands-on, meaningful activities, experiential learning creates deeper understanding and lasting knowledge that extends beyond traditional academic settings.
